What is Auditory Integration Training
(AIT)? |
|
Sound Therapy. Auditory Integration Training
(AIT) is a safe, effective sound therapy that efficiently retrains a disorganized auditory system and improves
hearing
distortions and sound sensitivity.
Berard AIT has been proven highly
successful for
children with autism (ASD), sensory processing disorder (SPD), other special needs and learning disabilities, as well as for
adults. |
 |
|
Safe, Scientific Protocol. Berard AIT
is an educational intervention
that was developed an used by Dr. Guy Berard. Auditory
Integration Training is based on a
scientific protocol
and has over 30 years of scientific research. These studies
include
28
clinical studies, including the efficacy of AIT with autism. The decibel levels used during the AIT music
therapy sessions are always kept at a safe level to improve auditory
processing and protect hearing function. |
 |
|
10 Hours of Listening Therapy. Participants listen through headphones to
modulated music therapy from an
AIT
device for 20 sessions of 30 minutes each, for a total of 10
hours of listening therapy, completed over 10 (or 12) consecutive days.
An approved AIT device and the specific
type of music used must follow the
Berard AIT protocol
to ensure effective
results
can be achieved. |
 |
|
Supervised AIT Sessions.
AIT Sessions are provided
under the expert supervision of therapists and other trained professionals who are trained
and certified
AIT Practitioners.
The minimum
recommended age for Berard AIT done with child is currently 3 years of age.
Both children and
adults with
various types of auditory processing issues, including
hypersensitive or hyper acute hearing can
benefit tremendously from AIT. |
