"He
has more phonemic awareness now, his articulation has improved and there
is more clarity in his speech." "We did Berard
AIT for
our son during last summer. He is doing great right now! My
son has a diagnosis of autism.
He is 5 years old now. We did his first audiology testing when he was
4 years old when he had very, very minimal language and vocabulary.
Talking about words being wrongly heard, a lot of the Autistic
(ASD) kids and Sensory
Processing Disorder (SPD) kids also have
Auditory
Processing Disorder problems. My son went through the same phase before Berard
AIT.
Many of the words were misunderstood
and mispronounced too. (Words like "nesquick", "oshkosh",
"firetruck", "helicopter", "music", etc.)
This has improved a great deal after Berard
AIT, mainly because he hears them accurately now.
He has more phonemic awareness
now, his articulation has improved and there is more clarity in his speech.
