PROFESSIONAL
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Felicia Schmaman qualified
in 1978 as a Speech Pathologist and Audiologist at the University of the
Witwatersrand, South Africa.

She worked in the Department
of Audiology, University of the Witwatersrand and briefly in private
practice and as an audiologist for an Ear Nose and Throat Specialist
until her departure for Melbourne, Australia in 1983.

On arrival, she took up a
clinical lecturing position at the School of Communication Disorders,
Lincoln Institute of Health Sciences at La Trobe University. She resigned in
1989 to concentrate on her growing private practice.

She completed a Masters
Degree in Education at Melbourne University in 1991.

In 1991, Felicia attended an
Autism Society of America Conference in Chicago where she heard about
Auditory Integration
Training for the first time.

Felicia returned to the USA
in 1992 to qualify as a provider of
Berard Auditory
Integration Training.

Felicia is the principal of
a private practice providing
Auditory Integration
Training and assessment and intervention in Communication Disorders.

She is the consultant speech
pathologist for the Fragile X Alliance Clinic based in Melbourne, Australia.

Felicia is especially
interested in working with children and adults with communication
difficulties including Autism Spectrum Disorders and other disorders
characterized by an auditory processing disorder. She is committed to
helping her clients achieve their potential.
