PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
-
Claudia Nyffenegger is an audiologist
with solid training about Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) diseases and
related disorders.
-
She has extensive knowledge and
experience treating individuals with non-verbal communication disorders
as well as those suffering from
sensory disorders or
autism, including gestural communication, facial expression, and
behavioral communication.
-
During several years of teamwork in
different European countries (Belgium, Italy and Germany) with
specialists in the area of developmental and perceptual problems, Mrs.
Nyffenegger acquired a great experience concerning
sensory processing disorders.
-
Through the cooperation with the Ear,
Nose and Throat (ENT) specialists Dr. Robert Nyffenegger and
Dr. Guy Bérard, she
developed the Auricula training method for auditory integration
training.
-
The Auricula training method is based on
more than fifteen years of experience in working with individuals
suffering from sensory and developmental disorders especially auditory
disorders.
-
Her first Auricula Centre opened in 1989
in Southern France. Over the last 17 years, Claudia Nyffenegger
continuously integrated the scientific progress in her work related to
Berard AIT.
Claudia Nyffenegger has trained Auricula staff in three different
countries in the last 3 years in Austria, Germany, Mexico, Poland and
France.
-
The project also involved the
participation of the Socio-Paediatric Centre in Ludwigsburg, Germany,
the MMUCEM Institute, Martin Moser Foundation, University Insel
Hospital in Berne, Switzerland. This joint cooperation in the field of
visual perceptual problems are part of the exchange with the CRIC
(University 1 of Montpellier) in the field of perception.
-
Cooperation on this project also included
the Netzer Society in Israel, a Society of Parents of children with
emotional difficulties and the cooperation, always interesting and
useful, with the German Federation "Hilfe für das autistische Kind". The
Auricula Centre gave financial support to the creation of a local
parental magazine "Wir Eltern von Kindern mit Autismus".
-
The Italian neurologist Dr. Parisi
(Sorrento, Italy) and Dr. V. Uttenweiler (ENT, University hospital of
Heidelberg, Germany) provided precious information and knowledge about
sensory auditory disorders and contributed this way to the efficient
development of the Auricula training method.
-
The scientific study about the Auricula
training method during 1999-2000 was based on the procedure used by
research on human ethology.
-
Claudia Nyffenegger speaks five different
languages and worked in France, Germany, Israel, Jordan, Italy, England,
Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Poland, Mexico and the USA.
-
Her extensive international work has
brought her a great experience about the different cultures. Every
cultural circle implies certain attitudes and purposes and needs to be
handled with sensitivity in order to fully understand the individual
difficulties of the parents and their children.
