The Dan Center for Autism, Houston, Texas Hosts Annabel Stehli and Georgiana
Stehli!
Annabel
Stehil is the Author of Sound of a Miracle,
Dancing in the Rain, and
Sound of Falling Snow She will speak in
Houston, Texas.
The Seminar was
sponsored by Christine and Dan Toledo, The Dan
Center for Autism.
Annabel. Stehli is an internationally
acclaimed lecturer, author of the best-selling book
Sound of a Miracle, editor of
stories of exceptional progress, Dancing
in the Rain and Sound of
Falling Snow, and founder of The Georgiana Institute, a
non-profit organization devoted to serving the special needs community since
1991.
For the last 15
years, from Japan to South Africa, Israel, Kuwait, the Philippines, Singapore,
England and China, and throughout the United States,
Ms. Stehli has tirelessly promoted
Auditory Integration
Training (AIT), a randomly filtered and modulated music therapy developed by
Ear, Nose and Throat specialist, Guy Berard, M.D.,
in France.
Auditory Integration
Training was the pivotal intervention in the recovery of Ms. Stehli’s
severely autistic daughter, Georgiana. Thousands of children have benefited from
AIT since she began her crusade in 1977. She is credited with establishing the
therapy as a researched and validated intervention in this country and around
the world. In the words of Paul Millard Hardy, M.D., of the Medical Board of the
Autism Society of America, “Annabel Stehli, and her book, Sound of a Miracle,
have triggered a revolution in the field of special needs.”
Ms. Stehli claims, with the approval of the
FDA, that Auditory
Integration Training remediates impairments in auditory discrimination
associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger’s Syndrome, PDD (Pervasive
Developmental Delay), CAPD (Central Auditory Processing Disorder), Dyslexia,
Down’s Syndrome, ADD, ADHD, language delays and communication disorders, and
all conditions where hyper-acute hearing and/or auditory distortion are
part of the diagnosis.
Improvement
in auditory discrimination can result in better social skills, sleeping habits,
language, behavior, concentration, reading ability and academic performance in
children. Adults report increased focus and decreased tension levels, anxiety
and depression, and corresponding improvements in relationships and job
performance.
